Free Food Sikh Kitchen – Gurudwara Bangla Sahib Langar Sewa, New Delhi

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is situated in the heart of New Delhi’s Cannaught Place area. It is loacted on the east side intersection of Ashok Road and Baba Kharag Singh Marg. Originally this place was the Bungalow(haveli) of Mirza Raja Jai Singh, hence the name Bangla Sahib. It’s original name was Jaisinghpura Palace. Mirza Raja Jai Singh was an important military leader of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib; (Punjabi: ਗੁਰੂਦਵਾਰਾ ਬੰਗਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ) is one of the most prominent Sikh gurdwara, or Sikh house of worship, in Delhi, India and known for its association with the eighth Sikh Guru, Guru Har Krishan, as well as the pool inside its complex, known as the “Sarovar.”

The Gurdwara Bangla Sahib and its Sarovar are now a place of great reverence for Sikhs, and a place for special congregation on birth anniversary of Guru Har Krishan.
